How to restore a faulty clean?

Hi

I am having trouble with my sequenser, Cubase. Cannot update or delete the thing. A while ago I agreed to let CC Cleaner 7 sorten out “doubled files” and I think smt may have gone wrong here. But I cannot find the restore files anywhere. In the old version of cc, they just popped up. Anybody??

Thankx.

you might be able to restore some files from your computer’s “trash” folder. i think that a simpler thing to do would be to reinstall the program that you are having problems with. that would include the option to do a “dirty install” where you install the program on top of itself, that is, without first uninstalling the program. you could call that a repair install.

you said you were unable to uninstall the program. that could be because the program’s uninstaller-file has been removed, or it could be that a needed registry key has been removed. in that case, if i wanted to uninstall a program, but couldn’t do it in the normal way, i would manually delete all of the program’s files that i could find, and remove the program’s registry keys from “HKLM/software” and “HKCU/software.” that usually is the only registry keys that i fool with, at least when it comes to manually uninstalling a program.

hi

thanks for reply. The whole machine went down but now I’m back.

Still fighting the c15 problem though.

Not very keen on fiddling with the registry.

When trying to install the new version/update, I’m told at least one container is missing. Therefore I thought maybe cc had done a little too much work…and if it saved a restore file maybe I could do a restore of cc’s work although it doesn’t appear so.
