How to reestablish a deleted file on a external storage

I have errouneously deleted som excel-file stored on a external storage. As I would like to recover these file I have tried to run Recuva, but Recuva does not search the drive where the files were stored. Only local drives are listed (the drives C:, F: and H:. The deleted files were stored at drive W:

How can I search at the w: - drive

Thanks in advance for any help

What type of drive or device is it? I know some people have reported that it won't work with certain devices, etc.
