how to recover data from correpted pen drive

Hi friends,

I am using KINGSTON DATA TRAVELER G3 of 8GB pendrive, but today suddenly it's not working, can't see pendrive icon in MY COMPUTER. I checked my USB port with another pendrive and thats fine. I tried RECUVA PORTABLE to recover data from my pendrive, but the message is "failed to scan the following drives, the device is not ready". The USB Mass Storage Device is shown in Universal Serial Bus ControllerS forlder of DEVICE MANAGER. Please help me.., I have very important data in it..,

recuva can only recover from drives recognised by Windows' Disc Manager

oops I misread.

You could try to format the drive since it shows in Disc-Manager/windows-explorer this will force the drive to move the bad cells to unusable (note some size may be lost IIRC) then recover what you can and get a new pen drive as that one is dead-bound (it sounds)
