Apologies if I'm beating a dead horse, but what is the proper way to update ccleaner? Do I uninstall the previous version before installing the update or do I just install the update over it?

Installing over the top of the existing version is fine ahuang.
Installing over the top of the existing version is fine
It is actually better that way, as it will keep all your current CCleaner settings.
