Thanks, I already deleted everything in task scheduler.
Another little doubt. I tested the same version of ccleaner on an old PC with Windows 8.1. In the advanced options the “save all settings in ini file” item cannot be unchecked. Instead, on my PC with Windows 11 the flag could also be removed. Is this normal?
Hi ADPP:
I checked CCleaner Free Portable 6.28 and v6.29 on my Win 10 v22H2 machine (both versions unzipped and run with Administrator rights on a removable USB stick) and the setting at Option | Advanced | Save All Settings to INI File was enabled by default and greyed out (i.e., this setting could not disabled) in both versions.
I tested two ways with the latest CCleaner Free Portable v6.29 (rel. 16-Oct-2024):
- Copying over the previous ccleaner.ini that I used with v6.28 (i.e., that had my custom settings), and
- With a brand new ccleaner.ini with all the default settings
and it made no difference - the “Save All Settings to INI File” option was enabled by default and could not be disabled. AFAIK this is the “normal” behaviour for CCleaner Free Portable v6.xx (at least on my machine).

Do you have portable.dat in the CCleaner folder in either the old machine or the new machine?
There is a Trial version of Revo Pro that you can downoad.
That should give you plenty of time to use the Forced Uninstall option for any software that you can remember previously uninstalling whithout having to pay for Pro.
PS. Revo Pro and Pro Portable are currently on offer at Half-price for Halloween.
I also noted these on that downloads page, which echo what I was saying above about the difference between non-installed apps and truly Portable apps.
ie The Revo portable is meant to be used as truly portable from the USB stick and not put on the machines hard drive.
If you want the Revo Pro Portable then you download it and activate it as Pro then move it off the machine entirely and onto a stick.

Thank you so much again. You are very kind.
This happened to me: I clicked “restore defaults” and the box was unchecked. <then I put it back as before.

To test and then try to uninstall with revo, I used ccleaner portable on an old PC with Windows 8.1. I saw that crash reporter was run. A first doubt: does crash reporter only scan or does it make changes to the PC? Second doubt: on PCs with Windows 11, ccleaner tasks (including crash reporter) are created in the task scheduler. These tasks can then be deleted manually. Instead, on a PC with Windows 8.1, nothing appears in the task scheduler. Where do I have to go to delete these scheduled tasks?
CCleaners crash reporter task checks to see if there is a crash log from CCleaner itself crashing.
If there is no log then it does nothing, if there is a log then it will send it for the CCleaner developers to look at and see what went wrong.
Obviously if they suddenly get a lot of logs with the same fault then they know where to look to fix things.
(I believe that is currently happening with a Software Updater UI bug, multiple update failure reports even though the software is being updated sucessfully).
Sorry It’s a long time since I used Win8.1 and don’t know why the task isn’t appearing there.
