How many CCleaner installs have you been responsible for?

How many CCleaner installs have you been responsible for? How many installs have happened because you made a recommendation or demonstration?

Thousands.

760 +/- 25 according to my logs

Impossible to work out because people you have told then tell others.

AKA second hand responsibility :).

I should have said directly responsible.

Just a heads up.

Absolutely! My 700+ count comes from recommendations, suggestions, things of that style. People ask me what is a good bit of software to use to manage build-up of files. I point them here. I assume that is alright to do, and even welcomed.

I do not install CCleaner (or any other system cleaner, registry optimizer, speed boosters) on any system I personally work on. In fact, people generally DO NOT LIKE things like this to be done. It is something they prefer to do themselves. And I can agree totally. It isn't my place to go deleting cookies or internet history or saved passwords & autocomplete. I consider that system personalization.

It would be taboo for me to go running CCleaner on a system that is not mine - because - I have no idea where important data could be stored. To go rummaging through someone else' computer with intent of freeing up disk space is just inviting disaster.

Furthermore, if you're working on a system that has crashed or in need of data recovery, the last thing you want to do is make any changes to the disk.

I've never kept count when placing it on a computer I'm about to clean of a friend or family member. I've never really necessarily "installed" it on someones computer since I always put on the Portable edition however I suppose that would sort of count as an install/introduction to CCleaner.

Just a heads up.

GOOOD post, Hazel, if I may be so bold as to say so.

my 1563, now 1565, is only non-commerical.

it doesn't include friends, family, neighbours or business PC's.

Why are you keeping count? :D

i'm not OCD or anything that drastic. :)

i keep a record of all my private and business clients & i have 1500+ private clients I have installed CC(+DF +MWB) onto.

as we all know, they're a great bunch of programs, so why wouldn't you spread the joy!.
