I need to recover some accidently deleted files to the same partition because of size limitations. Will Recuva just recreate the missing links within the NTFS directory structure or will it copy the data over to another spot on the partition and maybe overwrite required data from other files?

Recuva (and most, if not all, recovery software) works by copying found data to another device. It does not reinstate deleted files on the original device. You should always recover to another device/partition to prevent overwriting data you are trying to recover. You might get away with recovering one or two files to the same device, but be it at your own risk.
