I am quite happy with the version I have. I don’t want (to pay for) Health Check. I don’t want (to pay for) Performance Optimizer. I don’t want (to pay for) Driver Update. Yet I keep getting pitches to Upgrade. In fact, my splash page is Health Check, not Custom Clean, which I’d prefer (anyone know how to change that).
That’s how free applications with paid upgrades behave in the world today (and pretty much since the start of shareware/nagware in the 90s)

I have no expectation of eliminating all that stuff. My hope is that there’s away to minimize it.
I don’t know if it will slow them but maybe, what are your settings under Privacy in ccleaner settings?
This is coming soon but you can enable it now by going to the update page and opt-in to the beta/insider. With that you can set custom clean as your default start page.
