As with any icon in Android you could tap and hold then swipe it left or rignt onto a different page than the homepage so that it’s out of the way.
PS. If you tap-hold the empty space on any page you can then organise the pages themselves.
It’s worth checking out how it all works so that you can have less clutter on your pages (and even less pages).
