The latest CCleaner does cover Google Chrome, as shown by this screenshot of the latest CCleaner embedded .ini.
So the problem is finding out why it isn't being picked up and displayed in "Applications". My first thought, and only thought at the moment, is do you have Google Chrome installed in a non default location?
You could also try downloading a "copy" of CCleaners embedded ini from here, unzip it to CCleaners folder, and see if that does the trick.
It seems the problem is a similar one to a recent Opera problem. Google appear to have moved the goal posts and changed the location of Chrome's temp files, depending upon where you download it from.
If that is indeed the case, I'm sure the developers will soon be on top of it, and fix things in maybe the next release.
I wish these browser developers new what an absolute pain in the backside they are at the moment. Of course that's just MHO.
There are other Chrome users on here, so maybe they'll share their thoughts/experience with it.
I have used CCleaner with Firefox for a long time now, but when switching my browser to Chrome as it's default browser, "Chrome" NEVER shows up under applications or anywhere else. Why?
I noticed that CCleaner (I have version 2.16.830) is not cleaning Google Chrome. When I look in the 'Applications' tab, it is not listed there.
Any ideas? I was under the impression that the newer versions of CCleaner would clean Chrome.
Thanks much,
Jeff
ALOHA,
I have the same problem. I've uninstalled and installed CCleaner many times to see if it will start recognizing Google Chrome, but with no success. I'm wondering if it's because I still have Firefox browser on my p.c. even though Chrome is my default browser now.
Everything I read says CCleaner now supports Google's Chrome....well it does not seem to do so at to me!
