That was one of my problems, my QT camera clips won't play in WMP11 even with QT Alternative installed but KMPlayer works fine and also plays my mobile phone video clips which only played in Real Player before.
Must be honest JD, it's a while since I've watched any home movies (.mov), and although I can play them in WMP, I can only do that one at a time either by open file, or right click on the .mov file and "open with" WMP.
I was sure I'd imported all my movies into WMP 11 library, but I can't do it now. Maybe it was WMP 10, or maybe my memory cells are jumping ship.
That KMPlayer seems pretty good, but sadly won't do the gapless track thing for me with music.
...Gom Player and KM Player are the only two I've tried that work flawlessly with all the formats I need, and those that Media Player can't play, and both work without the need for a, IMO, bloated and confusing codec pack.
Except that without a codec pack, you can't do video editing or converting with a free tool like Virtualdub. Other free tools like Avidemux will edit and convert but not with the accuracy of Virtualdub. Mediacoder, Super and Autogk include all the codecs (like Avidemux) in their directory, but those are only AV converters.
The alternative is to avoid loading the full K-lite package and just installing ffdshow, plus something like Koepi's Xvid codec from the K-lite installer and then add codecs or filters as you need them.
Its wise to be wary of codec packs cos they interefere with the diretcshow filter priority order and make a mess of things when its time to uninstall them.
If I was into ASIO playback I would use Foobar. Since Im not (my speakers dont have the fidelity to notice the difference) I use WMP and ffdshow, which is libavcodec for directshow. I prefer the advanced post processing and filtering options over my second choice which is VLC that I use on non windows machines.
Sorry but from what I'm seeing this program is terrible. I'm playing a .m4v(quicktime) file with it and its all choppy and on top of that if I skip around to try to find a specific part of the file it cant do it. It says "seeking" and then just goes to the beginning of the video. Maybe its just me but that program is no where near as good as MPC and klite mega pack.

Not had any of those problems with it. Only problem I have run into is CCleaner's issues scanner breaks ALL its file associations
This media player was discussed on here a while back, although I couldn't find the posts with a search.
Did you guys read the End-User Licence Agreement.
It's a fairly straightforward "You've got no choice" sort of thing. Not trying to be a killjoy here, but if you didn't notice that, I thought you might like to know.
Hello,
The English version of GOM Player doesn't containt a DRM component. Rather, that part of EULA was really meant for the Korean version-- the Korean version has a VOD service, and that service uses the DRM component of the Korean version of GOM Player. (We were simply translating the Korean EULA to English, and that's how it ended up in the English version of the EULA)
For any video files that use DRM, GOM Player will not be able to play them.
As far as we are aware, GOM Player plays files on your hard drive (or stream videos without DRM online) just like VLC Player or KMPlayer in a sense that we don't support DRM, nor do we revoke your ability to play your video files.
On our next release, we plan on removing the DRM part of the EULA.
You obviously appreciate the concerns DRM causes when it raises it's ugly head, and I'm sure everyone here who uses, or planned to use, Gom Player, will appreciate you dropping in with this information.
Im surprised VLC is mentioned as a mainly used player by folks. It's awesome, plays all kinds of stuff and skinnable (mine looks like wmp11. Good times.

Indeed, thanks for clearing that up (though I'm still happy with KMPlayer at the moment)
