GID Files

Is it safe to delete all *.gid files -- or should they be retained?

Yes

Please read the following site I found by Googling .gid extension

http://filext.com/file-extension/GID

I wonder why practically ever site about processes, and extensions has a "free scan" link to liutilities.com? Adwhore's. ;)

Yes and no. A *.gid file is produced by the old Windows *.hlp file it retains certain info about the help file, position, size etc. If you delete all your *.gid files then the next time you open a *.hlp file or an application opens one it will produce another gid file. ;)

I'm glad he does. That link just goes to a login page, no forum topic is displayed.

I have a login ID and it takes me to the topic that is discussed about liutilities.com because I asked him to remove it from his HOSTS file because I wanted to look at what was there but he declined because of the bogus information it provides.
