Getting rid of old AOL files

I have switched my Internet provider from AOL to a different provider. I went to uninstall programs and uninstalled AOL (all AOL programs-security, browser, extras etc.) But I have heard that AOL is very hard to remove  and hides files everywhere on your system. I went to START-SEARCH and typed in AOL(to search for any AOL files) and it shows a ton of AOL file folders and files after the uninstall was done. I heard there was a way that CCleaner will get rid of the old AOL files without harming anything?

Can you please walk me through doing this with CCleaner, I would really appreciate it !!!!

Hello lbrazzi,

Welcome to our forum.

You have come to safe place to get an answer.

I too had to remove loads of AOL files and folders.

Just wanted to warn you to stay away from those websites that say they will take care of your AOL

"problems".

I wasn't a member of the forum when I was dealing with uninstalling AOL.Wish I had been.I am sure I would have received valuable advice.

It just took time.No rush.

Members here will give you their best advice.

Good Luck,

After I use Add/Remove Programs to un-install applications then reboot to let the un-install complete to remove in-use files I run RegSeeker Clean the Registry function to find and remove extraneous entries then I use NTREGOPT to optimize the registry.
