In older versions of Ccleaner, when a cookie was deleted it would dissappear from the "cookies to be deleted" list. Since this no longer seems to be happening - and I can understand that keeping the list there means that you don't have to make the same decision repeatedly - I would like to suggest that the "cookies to delete" list be presented in two different text colours instead of the current monotone - one for past decisions and one for cookies that have been stored on the computer since the last time cookies were cleaned. Further, I would like the option to group these so that once I have decided to have ccleaner eliminate a cookie, I don't have to decide it again OR wade through the compounded list of past such decisions to identify the new decisions that have to be made.
The current situation is getting really annoying.
Of course, it's also possible that the list is supposed to be depopulating, and the fact that it is not indicates a bug of some kind.
System = Win XP Pro Service Pack 3
Browser = IE8
CCleaner version = affects both 3.01 and 3.03
NB: Report after cleaning indicates that cookies are being removed as specified.
I am not 100% sure on this (someone correct me if I am wrong), but do you suppose that happens with multiple browsers installed on the same PC?
I am asking, because I was wondering what the chances are that 2 browsers may share a common directory for cookies.
If that were the case, & one of the browsers were set in CCleaner for their cookies to be deleted, then because both browsers share a common cookie directory, it would still end up deleted!
I believe that CCleaner is setup to only show the browsers that you have installed. Guess the next question would be, do you by chance have any other web browser installed? Even if you don't "use" it?
This is but a theory of mine, but someone feel free to add their $0.02 worth!
I guess it's possibly related, as I do have multiple browsers installed (like most people these days). But I've told ccleaner to clean cookies for all of them, and I don't think they use the same directory for their cookies in any event. I suspect that it's more likely to be a new "feature" that is getting out of hand.
CC cleans cookies for me in the same way as usual. I look at the cookies in CC, go to the Cleaner page and clean cookies, then back to the Cookies page and they're gone. Works for both FF and IE8 (on XPSP3). Perhaps some setip or use quirk.

That's the behaviour that I would expect from it, and what is not happening. If this is not the result of a new feature, I guess the next step is to uninstall and reinstall CCleaner. Are there any files that might be left behind with config info that I should get rid of?
The ability to export the "keep cookies" list to a text document would also be useful, if I have to reinstall!
You can right-click the cookies list and select Export to a text file, and presumably Import after a fresh install.
I can't think of anything in particular to get rid of, I've always installed updates on top of the old version. Just a general clearout of folders and reg entries, I guess. I don't use the ini file either.
Well, the uninstall and reinstalling of the latest version has solved the problem. Examining the detailed results of the "files to delete" suggests that the IE cookies were being removed from the list but Chrome cookies were not. So, problem solved. Thanks for the help.
