Hello all,
For some reason, when I attempt to open CCleaner, it just plain won't start. Any ideas why?
I've tried it in Safe Mode. I've tried Malwarebytes, NOD32, Kaspersky, Avast, AVG, none of 'em detected anything at all in terms of virus, malware, anything. Clean as a whistle according to those programs.
Also, here's a quick video I took to illustrate what's happening:
* I start CCleaner as Admin
* Multiple DllHost.exe's show up
* They disappear
* Try to start normally as not admin. Nothing happens.
Thank you. (Copy and pasting specs from my Reddit thread)

None of those helped. Did what others said they did, and still have the same results. CCleaner just doesn't start. Not sure what happened recently....have never had any troubles with CCleaner....

Let's start at the beginning. (Sorry I cannot make out info on your video, it's too small)

1. What build number of CCleaner?

2. Did you already have CCleaner installed and working before?

3. What real-time av are you using?

4. What happens if you uninstall CCleaner, reboot, and install an earlier version from here?

Your issue does sound similar to this one

The video is 1080p 60fps...just have to enlarge and use the proper quality option. The embed is, of course, way too small. Just simply have to enlarge.

When I noticed the issue, was using the most recent version of CCleaner. Then when I read your reply, I uninstalled that and tried the Slim version. Still nothing. I had it installed and was working perfectly before. Must have been an update or something.

I have no real time monitoring AV, I've even disabled the built-in Windows Security Essentials. I've temporarily installed all of the major anti virus software and scanned with them since this happened, and once the scans finished and detecting nothing I uninstalled them.

I've done just about anything I can think of. Uninstall, reinstall, install to a different hard drive, install Slim, install portable, install a previous version, run anti virus software (then uninstall afterwards, don't need the overhead of constantly scanning my system), have tried it in Safe Mode, have tried it in compatibility mode, have tried running it as Admin, etc etc.....

http://filehippo.com...cleaner/history there is not the slim-version!

look here and try the slim-version please:

@trium

member aregowe said he had tried ALL the solutions contained in the links

One of the solutions was to try the slim build.

Trying an older build from FileHippo was just part of troubleshooting.

@aregowe

Did you try this?

Note you will have to rename the exe file in ccleaner program files, not the shortcut on the desktop.
