Floxif trojan

Hi, I have just discovered that Malware Bytes has found the floxif Trojan on my PC. I now have removed it. I have read it only affects 32 bit systems. Is this correct as mine is 64 bit . Was the Trojan downloaded to both 32 and 64 bit systems but will only affect 32 bit PC's.

I don't want to reload my operating system if this is the case.

No need to reload OS the trojan was in the 5.33 ccleaner.exe. on a 64bit system ccleaner.exe exists along side ccleaner64.exe. update your ccleaner to 5.35 and the trojan will be gone.

See https://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=48869&page=5&do=findComment&comment=286631 for more information on the trojan infection.

FYI: my computer runs CCleaner on 64-bit Windows 7 Professional SP1, fully updated as of this writing.

Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) reported the same executable as being a "backdoor". It initially quarantined the program and inactivated three Registry keys. I have a screenshot of the MSE Quarantine feature's information display if you want to see it.

I had MSE remove the file and its associated keys from the computer, and reloaded the OS. Then I uninstalled CCleaner via the Control Panel Programs and Features UI, and reloaded the OS again. Further, I ran a full scan with MSE, then another one with the current Microsoft Safety software. Neither of them found any evidence of any malware. Thus far, there does not seem to have been any damage to data files or corruption of other executables.

So, I logged-on to your website, downloaded the current version of CCleaner "Standard", then installed it. There haven't been any problems with it so far.

Glad to hear
