I don't have this problem....but if a flash drive fails, is the data recoverable? Also what is the life of a SanDisk flash drive?
I've seen some places say they should last 5 years I've seen others saying they should last 20. I think it just matters if you take care of it or not.(removing it properly ect)
I know all of the ones I've bought have had lifetime warranties. You should see if yous does.
(I've always bought pny ones)

Does removing properly mean clicking the "safely remove" button? Because I know that my Flash drive is configured for fast removal. I'm thinking it could also mean not removing the flash drive before all the data is written - but how would that damage the hardware?
It will cause data loss and corrupt the data.
It would probably cause problems on the drive as well. (maybe try formatting it..)
