What was buggy about zone alarm on your system?
ZoneAlarm rebooted my pc as soon as it tried to run, believe it or not.
Currently am needing help. Avast causes all my internet pages not to be displayed (Page Not Displayed), and is there a current FREE (not a trial) AVG Anti-Virus? Only the one I tried was 2004 version and would not connect to the internet for updates, and I can't find a free one from the site, please post the official site up with download for FREE Anti-virus.
If that doesn't work, please suggest another trusted completely FREE anti-virus.
Fire-wall wise I'm relying on Microsoft Windows firewall untill I get some Antivirus set-up, so everyone please help.

AVG Free won't connect to the internet for updates, help please? I know it isn't Windows Firewall blocking it.
Is there something wrong with your pc? Do your other programs have any problem updating?
Ultimate Predator, I think it is probably time you posted a HJT log, your comp certainly seems to have problems, the type of problems that would normally be associated with malware.
I just looked back at this thread:

It seems you thought certain products that you use were more than capable than the products that we like to recommend in here.
This could be where your problem is coming from.
Hmm, I'll do a hijack log soon.
i installed Outpost free version today. When i try to update it.. why does it gives me info to download the pro version? aren't they releasing any updates for the free version?
Found this,

Hope it helps.
Basically, the free version isn't developed anymore.
The pro version is nice, though can be buggy on some systems and support from
actuall company Agnitum,is,well, not there. You have to search out for help from

Interesting and a most helpful post. I'm glad I didn't like the feel of Outpost Free since I didn't know it was untested and not really developed for WinXP.
Thats a bit strange, though it works brilliantly on my PC.
Outpost Free was released before Windows XP and has not been updated for it - there is therefore a possibility that it will cause problems (including blue screen crashes) with Windows XP, especially with Service Pack 2 (disabling SP2's Data Execution Protection may help in some cases).
It all makes sense now. I have got this blue screen crash few times.. was wondering what's causing it. Anyways, i am using Windows Default Firewall.. anyone got any suggestions for a better firewall? (Freeware)
I am running Outpost Free on Windows 98 and it is working fine. No crashes or glitches and prompts me when I am adding some new program.
Indeed, it seems fine to me.
