Firetune has already been updated for firefox 2. I just used it and there is a noticeable speed change in the rendering of some pages. Its worth using, just make a back up like instructed first. ![:)]()

It does beforehand too. ![:P]()
I'll check out FireTune again now that I have broadband.
I don't know if it seems faster, since CCleaner is in the cache. Clear the cache first, browse around, then tweak it, then browse around again and see if its any different.

It was actually .100 slower with optimization on my system doing page loads after following what's quoted below. ![]()
Although I don't know if the memory tweaks help in some way or not, I'll just have to use it's tweaks a few days to see if I notice anything or not, however previously when I had dial-up I never noticed one improvement however I suppose fast page loading is mostly contributed to blocking adverts with Adblock and the MVPS HOSTS File.
From the help file:
How to tell whether Firefox is faster after optimizing it
There's a simple way to tell whether Firefox works faster after optimizing it with FireTune. Just follow these instructions:
? Clear the cache of Firefox from the Firefox settings dialog - this is very important!
? Before you optimize Firefox, navigate to http://www.numion.com/stopwatch/ and do a speed test on http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
? The time needed to load the site completely will be displayed to you in the browser window. Write down the time
? Clear the cache of Firefox from the Firefox settings dialog again - this is very important!
? Now, close Firefox, and optimize it with FireTune
? Start Firefox again, and repeat the speed test on http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
? Compare the displayed result with the result from the test before the optimization
