I was trying to get Ccleaner to automatically close Firefox and Thunderbird so I responded 'yes' to letting Ccleaner close them and also checked to not ask me again.
This doesn't seem to work. Now when I run Ccleaner, it skips the cleaning of the Internet Cache for both programs. Neither program gets closed by Ccleaner. I thought it would close Firefox and Thunderbird prior to doing its cleaning.
Is this the way it is supposed to work?
Also as a secondary question. Is there any way to reset these options to prompt again after having specified to not ask me again? I can't find it anywhere in the options or in the hlep.
That didn't help. All it did was set the options that are visibile there back to their defaults. For example, I had deselected Download History and it reselected it. It didn't set back the prompt for asking to close Firefox before doing the cleaning.
On the other part of my question, is there a way to get Ccleaner to automatically close Firefox and Thunderbird prior to doing the cleaning that you know of? Do you know if Ccleaner can do this?
OK... I changed the setting in the registry as you suggested. This brings back the prompt. Thank you so much.
Do you know if it is possible to have Ccleaner automatically close Thunderbird before cleaning. I thought answering Yes at the prompt and telling it not to show this message again would cause it to default to Yes for future runs. That didn't work.
I want to schedule Ccleaner in the middle of the night and won't be there to answer prompts like this.
I don't think there is a way, unfortunately. I'd like the prompt to be able to remember you want it to close the program, instead of skipping it all together.
OK... thanks. That is what I'd like to have it do as well. I am looking at using a utility NirCmd to close the programs before running Ccleaner. Hopefully that will work.
