Firefox stuck on loading after clean

I'm running firefox 4 on windows 7 and did a cclean after updating. The only two options I have checked in the firefox options section are download history and internet cache. As the title says, firefox gets stuck on loading certain sites. The loading notification is either clocklink or google ads. I can view the time of embedded clocklink flash but can't see google ads. I don't have ad blocker installed and this problem only started after the clean.

I've tried system restore, uninstalling then reinstalling adobe flash, and many searches on this forum and google. Anyone know what might be causing this loading problem?

You could try using Firefox's own built-in cleaning in "Tools->Clear Recent History" then restart it to see if that works.

Also your Firefox is out-of-date, version 5 is available now. You may also want to check your Adobe Flash Player version too as that's had bugs in the past.

Other than that you could possibly have something wrong or corrupt with your Firefox profile, or even a addon/plugin causing it.

Thanks andavari. You are right, it was firefox 5 I was running. The problem sorted itself after uninstall and reinstall of firefox 5.
