Ever since I downloaded Zone Alarm Anti-virus, Firefox has a 7 second delay compared to the almost instant startup before that.
Anyone else have this problem? IE and Opera don't have this problem.
Zonealarm seems to be the problem since I uninstalled it and the delay doesn't occur anymore. PCtools firewall for vista seems to
be a better fit with NOD32...but I bet a good HIPS will be needed to cover what the firewall doesn't.
That's probably because the newest ZoneAlarm Free has a disabled Kaspersky Antivirus in it which I don't think is 100% disabled or is at the least causing a major slowdown. It makes a ton of stuff really slow from starting Windows, scanning with other anti-malware apps, etc.

The only "better ZoneAlarm version" is going to be an older one that doesn't conflict, forget about the newest version. Better to just switch to another firewall software altogether.
