It still does crash but I think it crashes on pages that have large files.
Did you even try what I said?
Dump the google beta extension and see if it works.

Yes I followed everybody's directions and also by the way Firefox has a problem with the history part and if it gets too large Firefox starts crashing. People have known Firefox for crashing.

I never heard of that but I dont really read to much into firefox. It just works every time I use it. I set my cahche to 500mb if that was your issue then there is the fix.

Ya thats probaly a good idea and Also, Firefox does work most of the time. Its certain sites.... Its mostly all good though.
Speaking of that history thing. Its a security flaw in Firefox that causes a Denial of Service Attack. That one day I had Firefox crash on me 10 times in a row. Which is a bit odd. Most of the time its fine but its just certain times. Mostly when my sister is using the computer.
Firefox KILL YOU!

Seriously, though, I have seen this on the Firefox Help forum. Too large a history.dat file can cause crashes. Not the same as the cache, rridgely.
Huh, I thoght that was an error when he said it was the history. I just figured he meant cache because why would having a large history matter?(plus ff should clean it in x amount of days).
I use my comp for days on end and have never had ff crash because my history file gets to big. Oh well, I guess its a bug I havent encountered yet.
me either, the only time FF has consistently crashed on me was when I was using the 1.5 beta and it would crash on me when i went on Myspace.
i am also facing same problem with firefox 1.5 on winxp. Is any thing wrong with firefox1.5?
are you using the beta?
It's not something that normally occurs, it happens if you visit a website that's been hacked to make this happen. It's a kind of lame exploit. You can avoid it with the NoScript extension, it has a function to truncate long URLs. Or just clear your history, like I do, after every session.Huh, I thoght that was an error when he said it was the history. <edit> I should add that this problem is fixed in Firefox 1.5.0.1, currently available as a release candidate.
