there should be no difference as long as you are comparing apples with apples. and the version numbers indicate you are.
so there must be something else going on.
obviously you should stand by the assumption that the manufactures official website is first and trusted place do get all your downloads from.
I know a few of the tried and true download repositories of the past (Sourceforge, CNET) have degraded into wrapping the executables with other crap and I seem to recall maybe Filehippo went through a similar stage.
So maybe that is the reason (although Filehippo's file size is smaller)
I was also thinking maybe FileHippo.com wrapped it, but no because I've also checked the BetaNews FileForum download and it matches the hashes I provided above. Perhaps a gremlin on Christmas day on the Piriform site, who knows really.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/get/ccleaner_standard,1.html called the file from Piriform but used an affiliate link and the file had the same stats as all files that so far were not directly downloaded from Piriform’s own download webpage:“filesize=6805328,md5=2CE5036C2ED480773C05E10B5BDF40E4”
My conclusion so far is that Piriform has two versions with the same general version number “5.13”, one version is direct downloads from Piriform’s webpage and the other version is for file hosting sites.
I am having a problem installing 5.13. I get to a screen that recommends Google Chrome and INSTALL is greyed out. I have tried the version from both Filehippo and Piriform with the same results. My machine is Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I DON'T have IE available.
Do I need to remove the old version and then upgrade
if the Chrome offer is grayed out then it will not be installed by CC.
probably because you either already have it installed or you have already said no to the offer in a previous install attempt of CC (and it gets remembered for 60 days or something like that).
also the offer of Chrome when installing CC can be avoided by using the Slim or Portable build of CC.
normally you don't need to uninstall the current version when installing a new CC version.
but there have been posts in the past where this has been required.
if you haven't tried it, it can't hurt.
uninstall old, reboot PC, install new - see how you go.
I downloaded Slim Version and Windows won't install it. Message indicates it can't find device, path, file, or I don't have necessary permissions. I did UNBLOCK it as it came from another computer. I run it under Administrator with full authority.

simple way:
disconnect your pc from internet during installprozess (a few seconds) and nothing will installed but only your ccleaner
