I am trying to recover some jpegs that I "erased" yesterday from my trash. All the files after the deep scan are showing green/excellent/no overwritten clusters detected, but I can only see the preview of half of them in Recuva and after recovery the files won't open in preview or Photoshop.
Is there still a chance to recover those files? If so, how?

Oh, forgot to mention that I was able to recover the one half that does show previews.
Files found with a deep scan (those with a number as a file name) will always show as excellent, whether they can be recovered successfully or not.
Recovery of the other 'half' is unlikely if they can't be recovered from the deep scan. If they are in extents then only the first extent can be recovered. The file system (FAT or NTFS) also affects recovery.
