In order to check the "show files" options, one must click exactly on the checkbox. Most programs allow the user to click anywhere on the checkbox label. Less precision is faster.

While you are at it, please fix another problem. I have tired eyes. I set up my system with Extra Large Fonts in Control Panel, Display, Appearance Font Size, and Use Large Icons in Control Panel, Display, Appearance, Effects.... This causes your Options box to be cut off on the bottom, and it is not known what else may not be visible.
