excluding certain files to keep from the offered list

Does anyone know how I can exclude such files as my Symantec, Ad-Aware and SpyBot logs from the offered list of files to clean. Thank you :D

Hello, and welcome to the CC forum!

You should find all applications that are being cleaned under the Applications tab. Just uncheck those that you don't want to be touched.

You can also go to Options, Custom - where you can add any folder or file to be excluded from cleaning.

as far as I can see, the Options -> Custom feature is to add any file or folder to be cleaned, not excluded from cleaning.

Perhaps I'm missing something?

Correct!

Sorry about that - my bad! :(

Thanks guys, very helpful and much appreciated.

Should I be concerned that there are around 100mb of files offered to delete. Most of the larger files reside in

\LocalSettings\temp\fnm63

\LocalSettings\temp\fnm 64

\LocalSettings\temp\fnm58

\LocalSettings\temp\fnm 6D

\LocalSettings\temp\fnmB4

\LocalSettings\temp\fnm BC

\LocalSettings\temp\fnm \CSV71

LocalSettings\temp\fnm \CSV79

LocalSettings\temp\fnm \CSV713 etc. etc. etc.

Any guidance on how I make this judgement will be welcomed.

Thanks Wayne :D

CC will find junk files in places other beers don't reach.

If you need to keep log files, why not make a batch file that does something like copy *.log from [YOUR TEMP LOCATION] to ["LOGS" FOLDER IN MY DOCS], then runs CC with the /AUTO switch? That way they would be vleaned from the default locations, but you would have a safe copy first...

If something is in a TEMP folder, it *should* be trash, but some people insist on saving things in there, thinking "I don't need it right now, so it's temporary, right?" - sadly the Windows TEMP folders are intended for system use only, so user files in temp locations are not seen as "special" by CC.
