Error message: CCleaner is still busy with something else

My CCleaner was recently updated but now I get an error message: [Cleaner is still busy with something else] and it has been like this for days and will not clean the computer as before. If I try to use [Custom Clean] option then it also leaves files with an error message in red that says [Unable to clean].

I could not get any customer support for this issue. Hoping someone on this forum could help. I cannot clean my computer as before - when I had the old version CCleaner operating.

The ā€˜unable to clean’ message in Custom Clean is just files that are open and so have been ā€˜skipped’.
v6 used to do it as well but just skipped the open files without showing any message.
That new message is confusing people and so the Dev’s are deciding whether to remove the new message, change it, or leave it as it is.

I’m not sure why your Health Check is showing that ā€˜Busy with something else’ message.
Have you left it for an hour or so to see it it finishes the ā€˜something else’ and then continues?

PS. To contact Support:
All customers can now access a ā€˜Live Chat’ support service.
To start raise a support ticket by using this: Contact Form.
Once you submit the form you will be given a support ticket/ID number onscreen, with a summary of your request.
Below that is the button to go straight into the ā€˜Live Chat’ where a virtual assistant will try to help you. If the AI can’t help then you will be passed to a real person.

Hi @crinkley456,
Please contact our support team via the Contact Us page on our Help Centre using the same email address you used to make your purchase. Once you have clicked Submit, please click the Start Chat button to give details to an agent so we can investigate this further.

Same here on two PCs. A restart does help but ending the program via task manager does not until a reboot. Than eventually, I see the ccleaner is still busy message error again and the message sticks.

The answer was easy, just stop and restart the CC Cleaner service.

I assume you are talking about the ā€œbusy with something elseā€ message?

Did you just ā€˜End Task’ on the service in Task Manager?
Or did you have to stop it in Windows Services?

Hello,

From Services. Ending Task in Task Manager should do the trick, on my work laptop I had to run as Admin services.msc

Getting exactly the same. Tried all of the above. Never had a problem with Ccleaner before but v7 seems to be full of errors.

SADLY and apparently CCleaner provides ZERO Tech support! We, the users, are referred here to assist other people with the same issues. I have been experiencing this SAME failure to boot for a month or more. Sending an email to ā€œinfo@ā€ gets me a non-response to come here.

I am HOPING that someone else from CCleaner, that I’ve been using for YEARS, sees this and responds. Support is very important to me. IF NOT received, I will research a replacement for CCleaner and they will lose a long time customer!

Do you WORK for CCleaner? IF YES, why do they NOT provide real tech support instead of telling paying users to ask each other???

I am a long time subscribing user and am DISGUSTED!

BTW, ending in Task Manager did not eliminate the BUG that is causing the problem.

Hi All,
We have just released the 7.2 update to CCleaner, which should have a fix for the CCleaner is busy error.
Please update to 7.2 and check if you are still experiencing the issue.
If you continue to experence the issue please message me back.

The CCleaner employees who vistit here have the CCleaner Logo as their avatar and ā€œ_CCleanerā€ following their username. They have to use those identifiers to show that they are employees.
Everyoune else on here is a user not an employee. We cannot use either of those identifiers.

Did you actually read any of the posts above?
The second and third posta clearly tell you that you MUST use the Live Chat to contact support, and tell you how to do that - it is now the only way to contact support.

Laurence,

That seems to have worked. I return to my other question - how can a good, responsible, company NOT provide tech support. CCleaner relies on the Blind leading the Deaf here in this forum with the hope that you, or some other CCleaner employee, will read the messages and respond. This is HORRENDOUS customer service! I am a loyal customer for many years and am DISGUSTED.

When I tried this, I received an automated email response telling me that the site is not monitored and to come here!

Nukecad,

I came here after ALL ELSE failed!. Chat with AI was (expletive) USELESS. I was NEVER connected to a live humanm, a dead human or any other sentient creature. I was directed HERE to ask people like you who I assume to be another subscriber and NOT an employee.

@aky13 sorry you had a bad experience in contacting CCleaner support.
I have sent you a DM for more details so I can investigate this further.
