Error message: CCleaner is still busy with something else

My CCleaner was recently updated but now I get an error message: [Cleaner is still busy with something else] and it has been like this for days and will not clean the computer as before. If I try to use [Custom Clean] option then it also leaves files with an error message in red that says [Unable to clean].

I could not get any customer support for this issue. Hoping someone on this forum could help. I cannot clean my computer as before - when I had the old version CCleaner operating.

The ā€˜unable to clean’ message in Custom Clean is just files that are open and so have been ā€˜skipped’.
v6 used to do it as well but just skipped the open files without showing any message.
That new message is confusing people and so the Dev’s are deciding whether to remove the new message, change it, or leave it as it is.

I’m not sure why your Health Check is showing that ā€˜Busy with something else’ message.
Have you left it for an hour or so to see it it finishes the ā€˜something else’ and then continues?

PS. To contact Support:
All customers can now access a ā€˜Live Chat’ support service.
To start raise a support ticket by using this: Contact Form.
Once you submit the form you will be given a support ticket/ID number onscreen, with a summary of your request.
Below that is the button to go straight into the ā€˜Live Chat’ where a virtual assistant will try to help you. If the AI can’t help then you will be passed to a real person.

Hi @crinkley456,
Please contact our support team via the Contact Us page on our Help Centre using the same email address you used to make your purchase. Once you have clicked Submit, please click the Start Chat button to give details to an agent so we can investigate this further.

Same here on two PCs. A restart does help but ending the program via task manager does not until a reboot. Than eventually, I see the ccleaner is still busy message error again and the message sticks.

The answer was easy, just stop and restart the CC Cleaner service.

I assume you are talking about the ā€œbusy with something elseā€ message?

Did you just ā€˜End Task’ on the service in Task Manager?
Or did you have to stop it in Windows Services?

Hello,

From Services. Ending Task in Task Manager should do the trick, on my work laptop I had to run as Admin services.msc
