I currently have about 50 old hard drives that I need to completely erase before I sell them. I have purchased a lot of usb to SATA / IDE adapters so I am able to connect them to my computer, however there seems to be a problem with CC cleaner when erasing multiple drives at the same time with "drive wiper - entire drive" When selecting this CC cleaner seems to only erase one drive at a time. The only way I have found to rectify this is to download the CC cleaner portable app and then run multiple instances of CC cleaner. Then I am able to erase hard drives at the same time.
Nergal's suggestion is quite good. Or, if your planning to set Windows back up on the computers you are wiping the drives from, just do this:
- Leave the drives in the computer. Format the drive with your Windows disk. Use CCleaner Drive Wiper to wipe free space as soon as you get back into Windows.
* Formatting a drive marks all the space as being free for Windows to use. This includes your personal data areas. It does NOT erase the data. Since all your personal data is included in the space available to use after a clean Windows set-up, running CCleaner Free Space wiper on that drive as soon as you get back into Windows should overwrite it all. If you wish, you can run CCleaner portable from a flash drive for this task.
