That'd be great. But the replacement of BIOS in favor of EFI had been announced a long time ago...well...only Apple uses it, I think.

Very interesting.

If the BIOS was discontinued how does EFI deal with security lock-downs such as bootup passwords or preventing the USB/CD-ROM booting??

If I remember correctly, EFI is a BIOS on steroids, so it should work the same way.

Interesting. I was gonna get an upgrade in the next few months but looks like I will have to wait now. :)

Very interesting information Hazelnut (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) and I have often wondered when the "BIOS" as such in it's current format would be replaced/bypassed/upgraded
