Empty Recycle Bin Deleted My External Backup Drive

It appears that Ccleaner moved over 30 thousand files from my external USB drive (T:) to the Recycle Bin. I stopped it before it finished. To test Ccleaner I right clicked on Empty Recycle Bin and then clicked Analyze. Sure enough it's going through all of my files on my T: drive. I've been using Ccleaner for many years. This started after I installed version 4.

PC, Windows 8 Pro

Unable to create with my own USB harddrive (D:\)

Try changing the drive letter and running CCleaner again (really all I can think of) and making sure you don't have something along the lines of T:|*.* in your INCLUDES list

ccleaner by default doesn't touch external drives, and never ever moves to the recycle bin
