Anyone else have this thing?
what does it do. It just appears ot run silently doing its thing. i get no alerts, no pop ups, no nothing...

It works just like every other Antivirus. I used to really like it a lot but the newest version has that dumb security center thing and the interface isn't nearly as good/clean as it used to be.
honestly all i can see is the thing running in the task manager? What am to be doing with this? do i need to run scans or anything. I must sound retarded but there was no literature in the box on "how-to" do things.

They would have installed help files. You could probably double click the icon that's next to the clock to get it to load, or even right click that icon for options. It should also have a start menu group to access it.
It's best that you at least open it to find out if it's automatically scanning for you or not, and do make sure you inputted your license key probably found on the inside of the software box because it probably isn't doing a thing until you input that.
