DVD-A

What burning software and what type of media should be used to create DVD-A discs? Also, what type of playback equipment is required for DVD-A?

I'm assuming that A means audio?

If so then I've always just burned them as data discs and they always work fine. I just use whatever dvds are on sale. :P (I just got 50 dvd+r for 8 dollars.)

The only thing that is required should be that your equipment plays dvds and supports whatever audio codec you used on the files.

Things like Wikepedia and Google can turn up allot! ;)

Actually, since my original post, I've done some more research myself. It looks like Minnetonka Audio makes three "Disk Welder" software options specifically for this purpose -- creating DVD-A (audio) discs. The prices vary significantly over the three products from entry level to advanced. Of course, DVD-A is the hi-res audio format which has been squaring off against the Sony-Phillips SACD format.

Anyway, thanks for your help and input.
