Drivermax

Hello forum and greetings to all.

Is anybody using drivermax by any chance?

Personally i dont install every update it recommends i just update the driver if there is a problem with a certain device.

I think it would be kind of dangerous to install drivers constantly and ive always had a problem with the sound driver it suggests.

I just wondered what forum members thought of this program and updating the drivers in general.

Kind regards.

Under Windows 7, update works great for driver updates. That is what I use.

Under XP, either search for them by the computer maker name (Acer/Dell/HP/etc) or via part manufacturer name (Intel graphics driver/Realtek HD Audio driver/etc).

If your updating drivers for your whole computer, can use the computer maker. If by specific device, use the part manufacturer name.

For the most up-to-date drivers, try the part manufacturer name.

If your wanting to simply backup drivers on a system to send to a flash drive & restore later on, Double Driver & Driver Magician Lite work great.

* 64 Bit systems force signed drivers to be used, so drivers that are backed up can fail to be installed. Installer from part manufacturer can fix this.

Darren I do tend to only install drivers if there is a problem with the device. If something works well for me I am a bit loath to fix what isn't broken.

Exceptions to this are far and few between, but there again, there are exceptions to everything :)

I would normally get them from the manufacturers site.

For me it's identical to what Hazelnut stated.

The only thing you do have to watch for is some hardware that is OEM often you can only update those via your computer manufacturer website.
