Drive Wiper Feature - Output Confirmation Log File?

Hello. I have been a long time CCleaner user and fan, great work on the latest 3.x.x builds. I am really a big fan of the new Drive Wiper feature which I use heavily to wipe drives that are used for backups. Due to some regulations, we would love to see a way to output a confirmation log file that a wipe on a drive has been successful and maybe some information about the specific operation. This would a valuable file to have on hand to prove that a drive has been wiped with DOD or whatever method selected.

Thanks!!

Jonathan

I second this request, though it might be even easier just to leave the progress screen onscreen after completion, then additionally displaying:

- drive volume name,

- date & time,

- serial# (Windows),

- selected S.M.A.R.T. info to verify its identity,

and a "Done" button to return to the Drive Wiper screen.

Users could screengrab (PrntScrn) and paste into MSPaint, or a log file (PDF? PNG?) could be created.

I cannot see any sense in a regulatory requirement for any certificate of when a drive was wiped and by what technique,

unless this is part of a system which also ensures that the technician who did the wiping has not had the opportunity to first of all copy confidential/financial data to his pocket Flash drive.

Another problem is the date and time stamps.

Windows tends to synchronize with "Internet Time",

but the internal clock and consequent certificates can be falsified by any amount of time or even years,

and a lot of false certificates can be created before it resynchronizes to the Internet time.
