I cleaned all the free space and MFT of a big drive. It did work a few times after I did that, but now I don't see it in my explorer, it doesn't appear to be recognized in BIOS, and in Win 7 it says it's an Invalid dynamic disk. I cannot convert it to a basic disk using any of the tools. Anyone seen anything like this or have any guidance? Any and all suggestions welcome, thanks.
As you said all was well for a while after you did it there may have been no connection to Ccleaner.

Well, all was well for about 2 reboots afterward. I don't understand the MFT etc. to know what could have been corrupted, but it still seems likely connected to me because the drive has been stable for years. Tried that tutorial, does not work.. disk not really addressable.
I don't think it's related to the MFT as the disk has to be addressable and be able to be booted up before the MFT is accessed.
Well I thought it could have been related to to some other hidden file that the manufacturer had there (or something). I don't know, I just always think I know about hdd's and then there's some other layer too it that I find out about, so that's why I was asking here to see if anyone had seen anything similar. But anyway, after a another few reboots the disk is back. Never seen anything like it. Just, weird.
