Download of update not sticking

After using CC for quite some years, for the last 3 months or so, the update download starts up OK, msg tells me downloads complete but the version does not update.

Which operating system and browser are you using?

Perhaps try downloading with Internet Explorer if you are using Firefox or Opera.

Also try without download manager if you use one.

Do you save the download to your desktop and then install it 'over the top'?

Vista and Firefox, not using download manager, yes I save file and then exe it, have tried IE with same result. No prob on my laptop with identical setup.
