I'm about as novice as you can get.
Gone to the download page do I enter the 'download from Filehippo.com', as the Download in blue outside this box does not light up as the download button?

Here you go: CCleaner
The standard build has a bunch of other languages and a toolbar, the portable download is for a flash drive, and the slim version has just the English language and no toolbar!
Click on the CCleaner link Madmartigan gave you above, if you just need the English language version, click on the blue lettered 'download now' slim build writing.
When the grey box comes up with the 'run' 'save' and 'cancel' boxes on it for ccsetup206_slim.exe click on the save button.
Choose to save to your desktop. You may have to click the little down arrow to browse to your desktop if it not already offered as a place to download to.
When the setup is on the desktop, double click on it and follow the prompts to install it (just use the default ones it gives, c\program files, you don't need to really change anything)
