As long as DF recognises your SSD as a SSD, it’ll just issue a TRIM command.
so in that sense, if you only want DF to ‘defrag’, you’re better off not even having it as Windows 10 has a TRIM automatically scheduled for once a week.

I had the same question. After analyzing my SSD (C:drive), it states my drive is 40% defragged. Should I use the defragger then, or leave it?
My windows 10 is set to do weekly maintainence, but the disc is a few years old.
Or is defragged SSD not a problem?

i mean defragged ssd is no problem...leave the defragmentation. only optimizing (i mean defraggler identifies your ssd and give you only the optimizing-option)

fragmentation on a SSD has no meaning, you can't compare it to the fragmentation on a HDD.
on a HDD, a frag'd file meant the OS had to chase down all the file links, some could be close, some could be far away, degrading seek times and performance.
for SSD's, the time taken to get the 1st fragment then to get the next and so on, is not even a consideration.
so the term 'fragmentation' is irrelevant on SSD's.

Defraggler v2.21.993 (64-bit) fails to recognize my boot drive as a SSD.

Sadly this is a long running bug that the developers have yet been able to squash. Some SSD are reported to be HDD in piriform software.

I wonder why they simply do not offer the option for the user to properly identify the drive?
For example, [competition software] has an option such that I can easily change the type of drive the tool assumes I am using. Implementing this type of option seems to be an easy development fix versus trying to handle it without user intervention.

Piriform put forward that same suggestion about 2 years ago, to allow the user to override the drive type.
but in true Piriform fashion, nothing has come of it and no communication to their user base has been offered.
I truly believe piriform no long support Defraggler.
i guess the staff needs to go back to school as their iq seems to be 0. A joke to actually to do this would be simple as almost all programs of this type or most offer this forced option or edit to, registry change of switched. Or deception of ability to this simple task windows 10 does this and it's basically stupidly simple for an example to fix.. If i am wrong then school I think is their solution.
