IE7 and Firefox?
No. Phishing protection are for grannies.
The one built-in in IE7 is basically kinda spyware, it sends the URL of every website you visit to Microsoft.
In Firefox you can choose whether to send every URL to Google or just against a locally stored database.
FF here and I have turned off the antiphishing within as I use openDNS which provides a similar function.
If anyone does use the phishing filter in IE7 then the patch released by Microsoft to prevent slowdowns when browsing might be useful (XP SP2 & 2003)
I would much rather have someone use site adviser instead of FF, IE, or Opera's built in ones. The fact that it gives info on search engine pages (before you actually click the links) alone makes it worth it.
On a side note I recently tried a similar program called fire dog..(or something like that) and hated it. It had a whole freaking toolbar and the thing was just annoying. I also tried another FF extension with a colorful circle thing but I can't remember the name of it either. (it sucked too so I uninstalled it.

That'll be WOT I suspect. Seemed to slow FF for me and ratings just weren't reliable so I got rid of it too.
