Disabled startup programs still working.

As the title of this post says- I go into 'startup' and disable all the programs that automatically startup when I turn on my computer. But when I look at the 'Show hidden icons' in the lower right of my Windows 10 window I see that there ARE programs still running. Update's from Nvidia, printer updaters, etc. These don't even show up as options to shut them down. Going to Control-Alt- delete doesn't help either, as it show numerous things running in the background with names that tell nothing about what they are or do. Does Nvidia load when I start my computer or when I start Windows? How do I fix this?

They may be scheduled tasks that need disabling.

Have you looked at the scheduled tasks?

also, some items don't show in CC, or in msconfig.

try using autoruns by sysinternals for a complete list.
