Does this mean that all computer monitors will be digital by that year too?

That doesnt matter, because it is the digital signal going to the TV so the TV needs be a Digital TV to handle that. But since the computer monitor is not connected to the TV network, it does not matter wether it is digital or not.
CRT monitors have analog signal.
TFT monitors have digital signal.
My Dell LCD comes with analog and digital connections. I'm using the digital connection and I can't tell any difference versus using the analog connection.

DVI is commonly used on LCD TFT monitors, it is an digital interface.
Many TFT monitors have both Analog and Digital connection interface.
There is a new proposed standard called DisplayPort, it is digital and can send both video and audio. But it has content-protection, which is bad.
Digital interface can be more difficult to copy/record.
Incredible. DisplayPort is apparently also going to be a component of "Trusted Computing" and will be internally used in some systems so you won't have a choice as to whether you want to "participate" or not.
Yeah, I hate all this Trusted Computing, DRM and stuff.
It feels like DisplayPort isnt even needed, its just something that is getting pushed forward to bring content protection.
If you try to watch a movie, it can blank out/shut off the monitor.
