Defraggler slows down whole computer

Hello all,

I run an Intel Quad Core 2 (2.4GHz) processor with 3GB RAM with Windows 7.

After upgrading Defraggler, I have been forced to not Defragment my hard drive while using my computer. I understand that these may not be your problems, but these are the programs I have noticed to slow (not necessarily all running at the same time):

- Spotify

- MS Office 2010 Beta (whole package)

- Opera Browser

- Explorer in general

- Windows Media Player

In the past, I have been able to Defrag my computer using your software while running games/3d design programs, which we all know are intensive on a computer.

My CPU meter on the desktop shows that my computer is idling (3% processor usage) and no excessive RAM usage.

Spotify just starts stuttering, then completely seizing up and crashing (also posted on their forums)

Office just goes painfully slow

Opera grinds to a halt

Explorer just starts getting slower and slower

Media Player starts juddering as its playing video.

In the meantime, I will revert to the previous version of Defraggler until a newer version is released.

This is a good piece of software which I recommend to everyone, however these bugs are irksome.

Thanks

Toby

You are not supposed to run other programs while defragmenting.

Its the same rule for all defragmenters.

This is because your programs will battle Defraggler for files and space, and thus everything will slow down.

You should consider defragmenting overnight.
