Hey, i've been having problems with Defraggler for months now, after updating from a very old version. Ever since I've updated, when ever I analyse it gets stuck at 16% and if I try to defrag it stops the building list at 16% too. Any help in resolving this issue would be really helpful.
what version of DF are you running?
what is your OS?
if you just run DF it should still get stuck at 16%, what file is shown?
try running DF with the PC in Safe Mode and see if it completes.
Currently 2.18.945
Windows 7
I don't know what you mean by what file. I don't know how to check, but on file list the top one reads "avg_secure_search.log.4" and the bottom reads "00010003.ci"
start DF and hit Defrag.
if the actual run follows the logic of when you click Analyse, then somewhere at the 16% mark it should stall, while DF does its thing, it shows the file in question, you'll then know the file causing the pain.
The file it keeps getting stuck on is 00010003.ci. I have located it on the disk drive but don't know what to do.
Okay so a little update here. I manually defragged the individual file, which sorted that problem. However, the next file after that one then caused defraggler to stop as well. So I then degragged the entire folder. It not goes up to 19% before it stops. It crashed and asked me to send a report which I did and placed the same email adress as I used when signing up, if you're able to locate it.
Am I just going to have to manually defrag all of the difficult ones?
There are quite a few hits about that file when you Google e.g.

You could clear out your restore points and make a new one.
Indexing is also mentioned as a possible cause.
Also you mention you updated from a very old version, try uninstalling Defraggler and installing from a fresh install..
Deleted all restore points and removed Defraggler and then restarted and reinstalled. Now it actually crashes and prompts a crash report every time I've tried to defrag
Have you tried booting your PC into safe mode and running Defraggler, does the same crash happen?
Does Windows own built-in Defragger crash when you run that?
Wouldn't hurt to also run ChkDsk as a precaution:
