Deffragler Crashing

I keep getting the following error:

Problem signature:

Problem Event Name: BEX

Application Name: Defraggler.exe

Application Version: 1.16.0.165

Application Timestamp: 4b0c35d4

Fault Module Name: Defraggler.exe

Fault Module Version: 1.16.0.165

Fault Module Timestamp: 4b0c35d4

Exception Offset: 000d54b4

Exception Code: c000000d

Exception Data: 00000000

OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3

Locale ID: 1033

Additional Information 1: d68c

Additional Information 2: 967d6e5c1eee83406aff7bbfb2671024

Additional Information 3: e4c3

Additional Information 4: 2b0e415b762b378425c77371dcf94576

I suspect that some of the specific additional information of the error vary from instance to instance, but this crops up every time I try to defrag the whole drive. I can run a quick defrag or defrag a certain folder--and that'll go without dying some of the time, but that only does so much.

So, anyone have a clue? 'Cause I don't.

Problem Event Name: BEX sounds like you have an DEP error or buffer overrun which is not good.

What CPU / OS / Service Pack /Security Apps do you have installed on your machine??

If you have a few hours to spare I would run "chkdsk c: /f /r" and reboot Windows this checks for file inconsistencies and fixes them it may help to prevent Defraggler from crashing.

CHKDSK doesn't run because it can't lock the drive; it can't do anything in safe mode; and when I schedule a chkdsk upon restart it doesn't run.

Try updating to SP2. :)

CHKDSK was able to run thanks to this.

However, Defraggler still crashes with a BEX error. It can, however, still do a quick defrag and defrag free space.

Can you run Defraggler in debug mode and post the log here for the developers?

Thanks
