Logged on this morning and I got a eror message saying
" A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider settings for Internet Explorer.I.E. has reset this setting to our original search provider, live search (searchlive.com)
I.E will now open search settings where you can change this setting or install more search providers"
I haven`t a clue what`s happend or what to do !!! i ahven`t changed anything yet
Hazel so you would think that given all computers with update checker and MBAM that everyone would get the same log and findings
Oh the wonders of computers !!
well I think i`m clean but still doing my scans,as for the initial query I`ll wait and see if I get that error message again,I read some of the link you suggested and it seems like other people have had it
Phew my avast scan log now says it has two files it can`t scan and says" the file is a decompression bomb"
its in nero7
Although the thread is closed I want to answer the Avast issue.
Avast will often state a file is a decompression bomb when dealing with some WinRAR archives, and some installers use SFX RAR's now like many well known antivirus installers. I personally ignore them since the extracted files can be scanned.
