Cookies not being deleted.

I've notice for some time now (months) that the list of cookies under "Cookies to Delete" are still there after I run the cleaner. Previously, this list would be cleared after I ran the cleaner.

I don't know if it is failing to delete the cookies or failing to clear the list (I suspect the list, but haven't checked it.)

please search the forum for ghost cookies. This is a known issue and the developers are working to remedy it.

Please, update your CCleaner to the latest version and post back if problem persists.

Thanks

I already have the latest version 3.01.1327.

Can you please let us know more about your browser version?

Do you know which browser is creating the cookie? You can get that information by clicking one of the "undeletable" cookies in the Cookies screen and you will see the browser icon at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks

I'm sooooooo glad I found your posting. I was having the same issue of "cookies" not being deleted from the "Options - Cookies - delete cookies panel".

I checked all the "cookies" I left in the delete panel and they ALL were FLASH cookies. I followed the online help info to delete FLASH cookies and then went back to the "Options - Cookies - delete cookies panel". All the FLASH cookies previously listed there, were now gone!

I bet the other people posting in the Forum are having the same problem because their cookies that won't delete are really FLASH cookies.

Not only did you solve my deleting problem, but by reading the help info on Cookies and seeing there is a completely different way to handle Flash cookies, I learned about a whole new "type of cookie" that my browser CAN'T BLOCK.

Thanks again for asking that question - "Do you know which browser is creating the cookie?"

I was using IE 6, but I'm using FireFox now.

All the "undeletable" cookies, when selected, show an icon that is a bright red square with a lower case script 'f' in it (see attached screen snip). Does that mean, what the other poster mentioned, that they are flash cookies? How do you delete "flash" cookies?

Okay, I figured it out. All the cookies were "flash" cookies. I went into CCleaner on the "Cleaner" page and selected the "Applications" tab. I then went down to "Multimedia" and selected "Adobe Flash Player". It was not selected. After that, CCleaner cleaned the flash cookies. Hooray!! [i dun lern'ed sumthan todey!]

Sorry KMazz... I should have included the link to the Help page to delete FLASH Cookies in my earlier posting!

In case anyone else needs it in the future, here is the link:

CLEANING FLASH COOKIES

I am having the same serious problem; about lack of cookies being listed & deleted. CCleaner is just not cleaning out the cookies. It does not even list the cookies on my list in Chrome, which does show a full list. Compare that to the cookie list in CCleaner and they are two different things! I'm not impressed by Piriform, not seeing the downloaded cookies (And they are NOT flash cookies). It always has the same list of cookies, which is wrong! CCleaner seems not to properly recognize the Chrome cookies at all. This is a completely necessary function, that must be done; I'm back to using the different Browser's cookie-deletion tool.

Kmazz - #1.: "I've notice for some time now (months) that the list of cookies under "Cookies to Delete" are still there after I run the cleaner. Previously, this list would be cleared after I ran the cleaner."

Same for me...It's always the same old list of cookies that CCleaner lists. The CCleaner cookies-to-be-deleted list are not the real cookies that need to be dealt with. Why? If CCleaner cannot even figure out which cookies exist, and how to list them; and get rid of them, why should we trust CCleaner to properly do the other things it says it can do?
