Computer now loading slower...tried 'Restore registry' - Cannot be imported. Error accessing the registry.

Hello All. Here is my problem...

I have always kept a copy of CCleaner to sweep up the computer (and it has done for years) But I recently installed it on my 1 year old home computer. Ran the cleaner & registry cleaner and now my computer takes 4 to 5 minutes to boot.

So I tried to system restore…and typically there are no restore points on my computer. Then I tried the CCleaner ‘restore registry’ and of course I got the message “Cannot be imported. Error accessing the registry.”

OK…I am happy to admit I know nothing about these things? and I really need help with those whose minds are more in tune with technology!I

I am not sure what info is useful so I am writing down things I have seen people mention?

I have Win7 (64-bit SP1) which has always been fine.

Norton 360 Premier edition for anti-virus

Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 8.0GB RAM, NVIDIA GT610 (If that is any use?!)

I have just run a full system scan on Norton (I also double-tap with malwarebytes and no issues were found)

I still have the cc_registry file on the desktop…that does not work?

I have noticed things like loading up my graphic work on photoshop is taking a lot longer too? I feel pretty devastated that CCleaner has done this as it has only speeded things up on the last 4 laptops I have owned.

Please ANYONE help! and do not feel like am taking umbrage if you talk to me as if it twas a child. My talents are not computers I will need my hand held through the minutiae of any fix.
