It's 3.4GHz and not overclocked. Got it for under 2k.

Is that $2000 or 2000#? You must've bought it when it just came out! That seems like an awful lot for a proc.

I just recently got an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ for a friend, and it was only $163. Plus it runs cooler. :P

Nah, I'm talking for the entire machine.

Actually it's opinions like those that suck. A processor is a processor. There's not really any difference in them except for personal taste. Both Intel and AMD have equally good and bad points.

Are you serious?! That isn't your primary computer, is it? I mean, I can believe that Linux handles resources better than Windows, but I didn't think it was that much better!

Heh, well that was my first computer. Now I dont have that one. I have a AMD Athlon Thunderbird 900 MHz (Socket A), with 256 mb RAM, 80 gb hdd, GeForce4 Ti4200, SB Live! Value, 3Com 3c905b.

But I think Linux could work on a 386SX at 16 MHz with 8 mb RAM.

anyone see the benchmarks on the new x1900's they are killer.

What's that?! Did I just hear kk56 compliment ATI?!!

Yeah, I wouldn't mind testing one of those out myself. Bet it would still get an awful score on 3DMark 2006.

CPU (400 of them) 5,000 mhz X 400 (2,000,000,000 mhz)

I know this is slow... maybe someone can beat it easily with a cheap system from tiger direct. I don't know.

Let me know if this sucks.
