Comodo Antivirus 2

No realtime AV here but this is interesting what I have read in the Comodo forum.

Gonna be a great AV or just great marketing?

Melih,Admin - Now you know how powerful CAVS 2 is.None of the other AV's in the market place can come close to CAVS 2 protection that it offers to end users.

Quyen - I must say, I'm impressed. You'll certainly be replacing Kaspersky as our "Most Recommended AV" as soon as a final release comes out.

I never tried their current AV and to be honest unless this next one is "better than kaspersky"(hell I think they are doing good if they do better than norton. :P) I'm not going to try it either.

I think its great they are offering all of this stuff for free, but I don't think their programs are all that great.

yo rridgely if all the AV's were free what would you choose?cost is not an issue here, just curious

also who is Quyen in the original post quote?

Don't know who Quyen is ATM.Will read up their forum a bit more.

My own personal choice of an AV would be KAV or Nod32 but some of the free ones are OK as well.

If I remember correctly from one of Rridgely's earlier posts he might recommend McAfee as a decent AV. ;)

I love the Comodo firewall and think it is an excellent product, but the antivirus was nothing but trouble for me. I uninstalled and went to antivir and havent looked back......

Sounds familiar... CAVS needs to be very good before I give it another try. Think I'll stick with Antivir anyway :)

If I was going to pay for an antivirus I would get one of the following:

Kaspersky

Antivir(sure you can get the free version which is just about as good.)

Nod32

Computer Associates

Thats about it.

Sure there are other good ones but those are the ones I would spend my cash on. :)

They are all relativly light, and they will all keep your pc clean.

But to be honest I would never spend money on an AV. I would just get AVG, Antivir, or the CA free offer. :P
